Piece Structures of Time was composed specially for the Łukasz Długosz Trio. Time was the inspiration for writing this piece. Structures of Time in the title should be read not only horizontally, how it is used to measure time (by saying “time passes”), but also vertically, as its subsequent layers. Vertical attitude for understanding time, not horizontally, is the indicant of structures included in the work, divided between performers. As a whole, it is joined by polyphony and the sound correspondence between instruments.
This work belongs to the group of pieces written by the composer, in which are used calculation techniques, by specially created for it computer programs. After an appropriate, substantive work with the sound material, composer achieves the proper sound matter.
